OK. So I was recently given what could be an amazing event at the Smithsonian to coordinate. If you haven't heard of Montreal Underground, or MUTEK Festival, proceed immediately to their website, do not pass go, and browse the dizzying list of sonic artists (some, not all, with music clips included...) If you have, perhaps you can share with the rest of us how those crazy Francophones got hooked in to so much great music and sonic art. (Nôze, for example...)Anyhoo, the Smithsonian Young Benefactors is bringing at least 3 DJs from the Festival on Saturday, February 24. So between now and then I suggest you listen up on your progressive electronica, and get your ass to the Smithsonian or the MUTEK Festival, May 31-June 3.
*Beware - Montreal Underground is going to be a very different animal in the hands of the Young Benefactors, who purportedly exist to give us money but more often drink their faces off at our events and find exhibits behind which to make out with each other. More details as I have them...
